Stroll on the sheltered part of the Crozon peninsula.

Although the route of this stage follows the coast, the sea will be only slightly visible. The feeling will be more that of a walk in the forest that connects a military school and its engine noises to an abbey and its meditation ...

  • Historical

Naval School and Naval Airbase of Lanvéoc-Poulmic

The decision to create the Lanvéoc base was taken in 1920. It was originally intended to accommodate seaplanes for coastal surveillance. Used by the occupants during the Second World War, 90% of it was destroyed at the end of hostilities. After the war, the Naval Academy was established along the seafront. The arrival of helicopters allowed the rebirth of the base. It is indeed ideally located near the naval base of Brest, Ile Longue where the nuclear submarines are based.

    Réserve Biologique Intégrale du Loc’h

In an Integral Biological Reserve, all silvicultural operations are prohibited. Human interventions are reduced to a minimum (securing paths or scientific uivis). Nature is therefore expected to evolve in conditions close to what they would be in the absence of anthropogenic impacts.
The Loc'h reserve was created in September 2006 and has a surface area of 68ha.

Description

Leave the church by going up the street of Tal Ar Groas to the roundabout at the exit of the town.

  1. Cross the roundabout and continue straight ahead on the rue de Kerlaboussec and, at the crossroads, turn left on the rue des Pins. Continue on the track which extends it to join the village of Kergoff and the D63.
  2. Turn right on the departmental road to leave it at the next crossroads and turn left towards the village of Guernigenet. Then follow the marked white/red path to join the coast after the naval school. Then turn right following the white/red signposts to reach the village of Quillien.
  3. Still following the white/red markings, go down towards the mouth of the Loc'h. Although it is possible for the most daring, at low tide, to cross the river and join the other bank, it is preferable to go up it by the path on the right, up to the crossroads and then take the road on the left towards the car park.
  4. From the car park, take the path which goes up in the rocks (white/red markings) to enter the Bois du Loc'h, classified as an Integral Biological Reserve. Follow the path through the trees (white/red markings) until you reach the entrance to the Landevennec area.
  5. Turn left into rue de Fiezen and go down towards Port Maria. At the crossroads, turn right on rue St Guelolé, then rue de l'Abbaye to reach the church. Rejoin the Abbey St Guenolé by the path on the right in front of the church.
